Your timing couldn't be more appropriate, as I just shaved (most of) my hair and decided to let it be it's natural (and white) self. I have been at war with myself, feeling self-conscious in public and free all at the same time. My oldest daughter (of 6 too) wants me to go to a Bad Bunny concert with her soon, and I feel compelled to decline because I will feel awkard and I don't want her to feel awkard that she's brought an old lady to the concert. Ah, what to do? There's no denying that I am thankful for the wisdom; I am thrilled wth the transparency of it all, the lack of pretense too! Thanks. #53ISME.
Kudos to your bravery. I believe my granddaughter went to his concert. The fact that you've been invited is fantastic. She won't feel awkward; it sounds like she thinks she has a cool mom. I always listen to the music my grandkids do., it's good and I like it (along with all the oldies I grew up with). Olders taking an interest in and wanting to understand youth is exactly what we want from them, to be understood, right? When I walked into my Women's Studies class of 20 yr olds at age 48 there was a group that dismissed me. The rest were friendly and we became fast friends. Yes, I was like a mother-figure to them, but a few needed a cool, open-minded, understanding older woman to talk to. Go to that concert!
Bravo!! Well said. I'll be 74 this year and feel like I'm 40ish. I enjoy the younger generation who are curious about everything and anything and feel free to explore who they are. Some may explore their whole life.... isn't that wonderful?
Im 56 and find that I prefer the company more often than not of women 20 years older than I am. I like their presence , their acceptance of who they are. I like seeing who I might be one day and growing in confidence to be myself now .

Truly wonderful isn't it? We are lucky.
