We Are Already Wisdom
it's an acquired taste
Arnaud Desjardins, a French spiritual teacher, author, and filmmaker, taught that “wisdom is not a distant goal to be acquired but an inherent part of our true nature that is often obscured by the ego.” He emphasized that we are "already" what we are searching for.
So why does it take so many years and experience to identify our own wisdom? According to Desjardins, we are born with an inner sense of wisdom, yet from infancy to midlife (and likely beyond), we walk a path shaped by trial and error.
It’s like we have to spend most of our time excavating ourselves to find, recognize, and claim our wisdom. I wish I could tell you that there is one big aha moment when you’ll finally feel “wise” and your life will change forever, you’ll begin to feel secure with who you are, and you'll glow like the wise elder that you are. It rarely happens like that in real life, the kind you and I live.
Who am I to claim wisdom? How do I know that what I think has importance, validity, and truth? What if I’m wrong? How will I know if what I perceive to be my acquired wisdom is valid?
None of that matters. Your wisdom is unique to you. If it feels right and true, rational and reasonable, and resonates within your heart, gets you through the day, then you have arrived. Trust your own knowingness. Do not doubt what you know and feel to be true for you.
Your wisdom is based on intuition, experience, common sense, and love. Love of self, others, and mankind. Wisdom takes you out of yourself, enables you to see the bigger picture, and understand what matters and what does not need your attention. Wisdom can conquer worry. Wisdom is based on trust. Wisdom is a gift for a life well lived.
That, my friend, is wisdom. Lead with your heart, dismiss your doubts, and embrace what you know in your heart to be true… for you.

Thank you, Lesley, this really resonates with me and I love the image/photo as well. When I think back on how my life has evolved I can see the evolution of my wise self. It was very "measured" and although I wish it had charted a faster pace, I also know that it was important to fully experience my "3D-ness" and the growth pattern my soul was/is destined to play out! At almost 77 (next week) it's still Onward...!
Great thoughts Lesley.
I suppose for me my wisdom was not expressed out loud for so long, that it became a habit of just listening and not adding my wisdom. However, once I truly added my comments I discovered they did have value and also gave support. I do have opinions, I do have truths that need to be shared, lovingly and sometimes with humor. My time with others is much more balanced now.
As lovers of life we have lots to add!♥️
