Awe, inspiring! I always have 2-3 things going. Just finished a large piece. I take it, for a while, from room to room as I move around my house. Right now, am exercising ( hula hooping) to begin my day. My newest, finished piece is in this room. It helps me to realize what I can do. It , in a way, brings closure to my emotions at this time in my life. I will try to share it.

You GO Pat! What a great idea to move it around. It’s always good to appreciate our own work. Im impressed you can hula hoop. I recently tried it and after many years of being a pro I just couldn’t get it to stay up. And I do have a waist!

Fabulous list of doable ideas, Lesley. While I was reading I was thinking.. ✔️ check, check, check!✔️ I know a lot of these ideas but seeing them altogether they are so powerful and inspiring. Thank you so much.

SO useful, so perfect! What a timely reminder even for those of us who consider themselves organized ... I always allow myself a bit of scattered time at the onset before I hunker down properly to write. (Shopping for shoes I will never purchase, that type of thing lol) xo

I call that time transitioning. It has always served me well, rather than diving right in. Thanks for writing.

This is the BEST List! Thank you so much for expanding your "Go with the Flow" post!! This article should be in "Where Women Create" or "What Women Create" or in "Art Quilting" mag, etc.

Great ideas! My personal favorite is definitely rooming around in material boxes or organizing, that always gets me started wanting to create. 💕

Merry December!

#10 is really great. I often get depressed with all the output of the many artists. My solution is NOT to open social media. But yours is much better. Also, when I am awake at 4:15 AM each night I find that is a good time for my monkey braqin to wander over a project and my relaxed brain often solves an issue or creates new ideas.

I love the last tip....to get wet. I know it is something I must do vs. just lingering and longing as I watch other artists create. Thank you!

These are wonderful ways to position yourself to dive into your art. Thank you Lesley.

Having an “art room”, finally after way too many years has allowed me to leave it out, walk by and glance at it and grab some paint or collage paper and let it lie all together. Unknown but important wheels start turning in my head, the flow is on!!

I do say out loud as if to summons the Gods: “wonder what I’ll dream about tonight to create?”. Sure a shooting something will be given to replace the completed piece. This is a joint effort, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.❤️
