Loved the message Leslie, and how this video was done. Most inspiring, especially today for me. One story a week. Thank you. All so daunting, all so worthwhile.

I agree with this whole-heartedly! I have been a practicing artist my entire life. I studied biology in college until I changed to fine art/constructive design in late 1970s. I then entered graphic art and illustration where I have worked for over 45 years as a graphic designer/illustrator before computers, with computers (as a tool) and since up to now. For myself, I continued making art, selling and exhibiting in this fairly isolated "wanna be" state Capitol city all the way through - on the side. I made that art because I had to - and not all of it is fine! The practice is what is important and all the choices made along the way about all aspects of surviving and thriving. Keep that inner critic at bay by finding new inroads, new processes to try and new ways to consider, observe and present them with your vision to the world. No need to be a people-pleaser either - those your art speaks to will find you - even in areas like I live in! Keep making your work! Cheers!

Just watched this video again....key take-aways from what I heard ( twice ) was "do a lot of work, do a huge volume of work", "make weekly/monthly deadlines", and "fight your way through"----HUH?!? What?!? How exhausting.....a total antithesis of what I've come to believe, as an Artist. I create from artful inspirations that flow as I allow them, wonderful surprises -- I honor only my true voice-- ( not "work, deadlines or fighting )" Peace and Happy 2025!

Well, it was created by a man and we know how they can think. You do you, as I do me. Happy New Year.

O well that explains things...I thought you wrote all of these notes. But it did not sound like you even a small bit!

Happy New Year dear friend! As Jean said you always seem to intuit what I need to hear or needs to be said. With 2025 full of new options and excitement I plan on implementing some new lifestyle changes. High on the list is being more present and active in my art. I don’t know what that looks like yet. One thing is I plan on reading one chapter a day of The Paper Garden by Molly Peacock. I believe you recommended it in an earlier post. Since Molly and I are both 72 and love mixed medium art I’m excited to see what is awaiting me between her pages. Thanks Lesley for all you do and being you! See you at Red Thread!

As often happens, Leslie, you are right on target. It always amazes me how your writing hits a spot in my life that needs uplifting. I treasure Further to Fly and re-read the articles especially those that have provided a lesson I didn't know I needed.
